Robert Joseph, professionally known as Chak, is a Media Solutions Engineer and visual storyteller who combines technical expertise in AI with his passion for creative photography. Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Robert moved to the United States in 2007, where he faced the challenges of learning a new language and adapting to a different culture. These formative experiences shaped his unique perspective, driving his passion to communicate visually and explore themes of resilience and identity in his work.

Chak’s journey into photography began at 18, when he received his first camera, just before the global pandemic. This opened the door to his distinctive style, blending continuous lighting and smoke manipulation to create surreal, emotionally charged images that engage viewers on a deeper level. As he pursues a degree in Computational Science with a focus on AI at Florida State University, Robert is committed to blending his technical skills with his artistic vision, using his background in AI to push the creative boundaries of digital storytelling.

Through his brand, Chak Files, Robert specializes in delivering high-impact visual content, capturing essence and emotion for brands and individuals. His portfolio spans branding sessions, portraits, and studio work, each piece thoughtfully crafted to go beyond capturing moments and instead evoke meaningful narratives. As Director of the Veterans Student Union at Florida State, he advocates for veterans, combining his leadership skills with a passion for service. His giving spirit extends to Chak Files, where he organizes initiatives like the 'Bundled with Love' campaign, providing resources to shelters and offering free headshots to underserved groups, including first-generation students and veterans.
